The museum focuses on 20th and 21st century American art, along with its own permanent collection includes more than 21,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photos, films, artifacts and videos of social networking by more than 3,000 artists. The museum attempts to exhibit the work of living artists, in addition to keep a comprehensive permanent collection featuring many essential pieces from the first half of the previous century. Along with his curation, Kiehl has served as school to Yale University, School of Art, Critical Practice and contributed to Art News, Art on Paper, and various university, gallery and museum publications. “Together with his expert and accomplished attention, Mr. Kiehl is bound to conceive an eclectic and dynamic series, but it’s the varied talents of the region’s artists that bring power and excitement to the exhibit,” Mueller explained.
